Print Strategy Team

John Chittick
Partner

John Chittick founded Print Strategy in 1999 to help direct marketers maximize the value on their print expenditures. He would do so by matching project specs to the best manufacturing platform in an industry experiencing significant technological change.

Prior to founding Print Strategy, John opened and managed regional offices for Webcraft Technologies, Banta Corporation and Alden Press/WorldColor. Establishing Print Strategy brought a more personalized approach to clients and projects than was seemingly evident at the nation’s largest printing companies.

John loves the tangible nature of print and the ability to produce a product that can be held. He’s had the privilege to provide Inserts and Direct Mail for market leading clients such as art.com, Athleta, Bullock & Jones, Design Within Reach, Fox Racing, Grand European Tours, Hanna Andersson, Nike, Norm Thompson, Pendleton, Publicis Dialog, Pure Branding, Restoration Hardware, Rejuvenation, Smith & Hawken, Title Nine, TravelSmith, VivaTerra, Weiden & Kennedy and Williams-Sonoma.

A past speaker on Print Production Issues at the American Catalog Conference and CeCNC Basics Program, John was a two term President of the Catalog and E-commerce Club, Northern California.

John holds an honors degree in Business from Queens University and a Masters of Science in Printing Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology. His most recent accreditation is Mailpiece Design Professional from the US Postal Service.

Veronica Gaynor
Printing Consultant

Veronica joined Print Strategy in January 2000. After 25 years in advertising, publishing and production, her experience and dedication enable her to implement and execute value-added print promotions for start-up, mid-sized, and Fortune 500 companies.

Veronica’s career has spanned several industries and countries. In England, she worked in publishing and advertising at Warner Publicity, then McCann-Erickson. Moving to Austria, she worked for Levi-Strauss as their English correspondent. But the pull of publishing/advertising took her to Lithorex‘s German sales office. Lithorex manufactured personalized direct mail for European marketers, which made her move to Webcraft Technologies’ new San Franciso office an easy transition.

With Webcraft, Veronica combined her keen understanding of client marketing objectives with a manufacturer’s technical abilities to create outstanding print formats. Her major account responsibilities included Williams-Sonoma, Old Navy, Pacific Bell, Restoration Hardware, REI and Sundance.

Today, Veronica develops and implements scalable production processes for nationally known direct marketers. In her consulting role, she helps marketing, design and production managers develop cost-effective, multi-step, print production programs. Her deep and diverse experience helps guide each client engagement.

Veronica lives in San Francisco and frequently travels to Europe to maintain her foreign language skills.

Janis Miller
Office Manager

One of the early members of legendary San Francisco and Venice Beach ad agency ChiatDay, Janis’ tact and wrangling skills were well used as an Account Executive managing projects. Her interest in media took her to TV Guide and ultimately Conde Nast’s Glamour Magazine for whom she opened the Pacific Northwest Territory, managing major accounts like The Gap, Esprit, Nike and Nordstom.

Organizationally, Janis conceived and presented the first sustained Job Share program throughout the Conde Nast magazine empire. She brings those organizational skills to Print Strategy keeping our office procedures and books in ship-shape order.

For years, Janis was a busy stay-at-home Mom and PTA participant. Now, with children graduated from high school and college, Janis works flexible hours at Print Strategy, paints and concentrates on her tennis game.
